Echo Implants

The Echo is the most quietly indispensable of Aetherion's civic technologies. A small, biocompatible mesh embedded behind every citizen's left ear, it monitors wellness in real time, surfaces gentle reminders, and connects each Ordinal to the city's civic continuity grid.

Citizens receive their Echo at the standard implantation age and live with it from that moment forward. Most never notice it. The implant adapts to the wearer; the wearer adapts to the city; the city adapts to its citizens. This three-way equilibrium is what civic continuity has always meant in Aetherion.

The Echo does not, in any meaningful civic sense, change you. It is the device by which the city continues to know you well enough to take care of you.
